South African health workers' need training about breastfeeding in HIV context

A study conducted in South Africa assessed "breastfeeding knowledge amongst health workers in an area of high HIV prevalence." S. Shah and colleagues, Africa Center for Health & Population Studies, wrote, "A cross-sectional survey using semistructured questionnaires and problem-based scenarios was carried out. Responses were compared to those recommended in the World Health Organization (WHO) Breastfeeding Counseling Course. The setting was a rural area of KwaZulu Natal, with a population of 220,000 people."
