Development of new screening system will continue

A recent $9 million second-round of funding will allow Mirabel Medical Systems (Austin, Texas) to continue its plans to bring the T-Scan 2000 ED - the company's breast cancer screening system - to market over the next 12 months. T-Scan is the first system designed to be used for routine annual breast cancer risk screening in women ages 30 to 40, who typically have denser breast tissue, as a complement to a clinical breast exam (CBE). The test is noninvasive, utilizing Electrical Impendence Scanning (EIS) to measure low-level electric signals as they pass through breast tissue.
