Scientists have evaluated antimicrobial resistance and treatment failures for Chlamydia trachomatis. According to a study from the United States and Switzerland, "Each year, Chlamydia trachomatis causes {{approx}}3 million new infections and results in more than $1 billion in medical costs in the United States.
