Formulation completed for new contraceptive transdermal gel

Antares Pharma, Inc., (AIS) has completed the formulation and preclinical activities of a contraceptive transdermal gel based on its proprietary Advanced Transdermal Delivery (ATD) gel technology. The product, currently named AP-1081, is gel-based and contains norelgestromin and ethinyl estradiol (EE). AP-1081 is a clear, cosmetic and discreet gel product that is designed to allow even delivery of active pharmaceutical ingredients across the skin and to be quickly and painlessly absorbed following application to the arms, shoulders, thighs or abdomen without leaving a residue.
