Radiologists report that ultrasound-guided drainage of breast abscesses is effective and a less invasive treatment method than traditional surgery. In their assessment of ultrasound-guided drainage, A.F. Christensen and colleagues, University of Copenhagen, paid particular attention to the "risk of recurrence and the need for surgical treatment in a consecutive patient population."
