Pectoralis flaps useful for muscle coverage of expander implants

Pectoralis flaps can be used to provide muscle coverage of breast expander implants.

"Immediate breast reconstruction with expander implants is a safe, simple procedure that allows for a rapid physical and emotional postmastectomy recovery," according to plastic surgeons in the United States. "When complications occur, the patient may be left with a prolonged reconstructive course."
