Radiopaque coil helps localize neoadjuvant chemotherapy

A radiopaque coil is useful the treatment of breast cancer for identifying sites where additional surgery is needed and for localizing areas of neoadjuvant chemotherapy, researchers report. A.R. Sever, at Maidstone Hospital, Maidstone, Kent, U.K., and colleagues described their study: "Between May 1998 and December 2002, neoadjuvant chemotherapy was given to 81 women aiming to reduce tumor size and avoid mastectomy.
