Study finds hyperthermia improves radiation therapy in advanced cases

A paper in the May 1, 2005, Journal of Clinical Oncology reports that hyperthermia improves response rate after radiation therapy or breast cancer patients with postmastectomy chest wall recurrence, announced BSD Medical Corporation (BSDM), which develops and markets hyperthermia treatment. The study, by Duke University Medical Center researchers, compared the hyperthemia-adjuvanted radiation therapy with radiation therapy alone.
