Surgical procedures are key predictor of short-term complications

Surgical procedures are a key predictor of short-term complications after breast implantation, more so than characteristics of the implant or the patient, according to a recent report.

"Epidemiologic data on local complications after breast augmentation are scarce. In particular, few prospectively collected data are available on modern breast implants on this issue," wrote T.F. Henriksen, of the Danish Registry for Plastic Surgery of the Breast, and colleagues from other institutions in Denmark and in the United States.
