Results of mammographic screening trial of women from age 40 reported

Oncologists in England have published "results of screening in the first 10 years of a randomized trial to study the effect on breast cancer mortality of invitation to annual mammography from age 40 to 41 compared to first invitation to the 3-yearly U.K. national program at age 50-52." The trial is ongoing at 23 National Health Service (NHS) breast screening centers in the U.K., the researchers said.
