Breast cancer research advances have been reported from France and the United States. Study 1: Data from the large E3N-EPIC cohort study indicate that postmenopausal women's risk of breast cancer is higher when their hormone replacement therapy regimen includes synthetic progestins rather than micronized progesterone. Researchers said, "Most epidemiological studies have shown an increase in breast cancer risk related to hormone replacement therapy (HRT) use.
