Survival rate higher among South Asian women in England and Wales

South Asian women in England and Wales have lower incidence of breast cancer and higher rate of survival from the disease than their non-Asian counterparts, data show. Epidemiologist S. Farooq and colleagues at the University of London's London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine set out to "estimate ethnic and socioeconomic differences in breast cancer incidence and survival between South Asians and non-South Asians in England and Wales, and to provide a baseline for surveillance of cancer survival in South Asians, the largest ethnic minority."
