Toxicity of adjuvant CMF in elderly breast cancer patients examined

The toxicity of adjuvant cyclophosphamide, methotrexate, fluorouracil (CMF) in elderly breast cancer patients was examined. According to recent research published in the journal BMC Cancer, "Few data are available on compliance and safety of adjuvant chemotherapy when indicated in elderly breast cancer patients; CMF can be reasonably considered the most widely accepted standard of treatment." "We retrospectively reviewed compliance and safety of adjuvant CMF in patients >60 years old. The treatment was indicated if patients had no severe comorbidity, a high-risk of recurrence, and were <75 years old. Toxicity was coded by NCI-CTC....
