Research shows strides in multiplex genotyping technology development

Research presented at the Clinical Virology Symposium demonstrated the sensitivity and technical feasibility of genotyping chemistry now being developed by Digene Corp. (DIGE) as part of its next-generation molecular-testing system, according to the company. Building on the company's Hybrid Capture molecular-testing technology, Digene's new systems are being developed for simultaneous detection of multiple infectious agents and for genotyping of high-risk types of the human papillomavirus (HPV), the cause of virtually all cases of cervical cancer.
