According to a study from Japan, "Mammographic density reflects comprehensive changes in the mammary gland. The condition of the tumor microenvironment is a possible factor affecting tumor progression, as well as a tumor risk factor." M. Morishita and colleagues, Nagasaki University, investigated "whether mammographic density correlates with tumor clinicopathological features and prognosis in breast cancer patients."
