Researchers offer inclusion factors to define anemia related to heart failure

Researchers at the University of Colorado recently described inclusion factors to allow a better definition of the relationship between anemia and heart failure patients' prognosis. In a recent issue of the American Heart Journal, J. Lindenfeld and associates reported, "In patients with chronic kidney disease, the adverse cardiovascular effects of anemia have been well established. New data are emerging to suggest anemia may represent an important treatable cause of cardiac morbidity and mortality in patients with heart failure."
