Reports add new data to obstetrics research

Data on obstetrics are outlined in reports from South Korea, Denmark and United States. Study 1: Maternal oxidative stress is associated with lower-birth-weight infants in full-term pregnancies, according to a study from South Korea. Y.J. Kim and colleagues, Inha University, Inchon, measured the levels of maternal urinary 8-hydroxydeoxyguanosine (8-OH-dG) and malondialdehyde (MDA) in 261 women pregnant with one child. 8-OH-dG and MDA are biomarkers of oxidative stress.
