Caelyx recommended as treatment of ovarian cancer in U.K.

The United Kingdom's National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) has issued its final guidance recommending the use of Caelyx (pegylated liposomal doxorubicin hydrochloride) as an option for the second-line treatment or subsequent treatment of women with advanced ovarian cancer. This recommendation includes the treatment of women with partially platinum-sensitive, platinum-resistant, or platinum-refractory advanced ovarian cancer, and for women who are allergic to platinum-based compounds.
