2005 Komen breast cancer Race For The Cure draws thousands to National Mall



July 7th, 2005

More than 47,000 runners and walkers at the 2005 Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation National Race for the Cure descended on the National Mall to participate in the 16th annual 5K event in Washington, D.C., to raise money for breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment programs.

More than $2.8 million was raised to support the fight against breast cancer. Among the participants were nearly 3,700 breast cancer survivors.
