Blue Cross Blue Shield of Missouri helps mothers with postpartum depression

Postpartum depression is a condition that is as common as diabetes or heart disease, yet treatment for women suffering from the condition is often underutilized. In response, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Missouri (BCBSMo) has launched the Postpartum Depression initiative, a program that offers new moms information and resources about the illness and available treatment options. Launched in 2003, the company's Postpartum Depression program has provided screenings to more than 17,000 members.
