Ovariectomy-induced change in rat brain AChE activity affects cognition

Research suggests that alterations in brain acetylcholinesterase and plasma butyrylcholinesterase activity in rats may play a role in cognitive impairment seen in ovariectomized rats.

S.C. Monteiro and colleagues, University Federal Rio Grande Sul, Porto Alegre, Brazil, "investigated the effect of ovariectomy on acetylcholinesterase (AChE) activity and ganglioside content in cerebral cortex of female rats."
