July 28th, 2005

The technique for diagnosing human breast cancer with 1H magnetic resonance spectroscopic imaging (MRSI) has improved.

According to recent research from the United States, "The high sensitivity but poor specificity of magnetic resonance imaging for detecting breast cancer has stimulated interest in MRSI as a tool to improve specificity and reduce the number of benign biopsies."
