Duke University to evaluate Panzem NCD in breast cancer

EntreMed, Inc., (ENMD), a clinical-stage pharmaceutical company developing therapeutics primarily for the treatment of cancer and inflammatory diseases, announced that Duke University Medical Center has received a grant from the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation to study the company's lead compound, 2ME2 (2-Methoxyestradiol or Panzem), in metastatic breast cancer. Basic, translational, and clinical studies will be conducted using Panzem NCD in combination with a variety of chemotherapeutic agents to determine the effect of 2ME2 on chemotherapy resistant tumors.
