Phytoestrogens and 17 beta-estradiol inhibited apoptosis in breast cancer cells

Phytoestrogens combined with 17 beta-estradiol to inhibit apoptosis in MCF-7 breast cancer cells. "Phytoestrogens have been described to be weak estrogens, SERMs or exhibit antiestrogenic properties. However, information about their activity in presence of estrogens is limited," scientists writing in the Journal of Steroid Biochemistry and Molecular Biology reported.
