Obstetrics data are the focus of recent research from the United States, Canada and Belgium. Study 1: Subcutaneous suture reapproximation combined with a subcutaneous drain is ineffective for preventing wound complications in obese women undergoing cesarean delivery, obstetrician-researchers report. P.S. Ramsey and colleagues, University of Alabama, conducted a multicenter randomized trial in which they "[compared] the efficacy of subcutaneous suture reapproximation alone with suture plus subcutaneous drain for the prevention of wound complications in obese women undergoing cesarean delivery."
