Researchers describe findings in cervical cancer studies

Cervical cancer research advances have been reported from the United States and United Kingdom. Study 1: ORI-1001 antisense oligonucleotide stifles human papillomavirus replication. "Human papillomaviruses (HPVs) are small double-stranded DNA viruses that infect the cutaneous or mucosal epithelium. The high-risk genital HPVs are associated with squamous intraepithelial lesions of the anogenital region that can progress to cancer," researchers in the United States report.
