Study evaluates anomaly rates of insulin treatments. In a recent article published in the journal Diabetic Medicine, scientists in the United States conducted a multinational, multicenter retrospective study "to determine the rate of major congenital anomalies in offspring of a large group of women with diabetes mellitus treated with insulin lispro (Humalog). The study included mothers with diabetes mellitus (diagnosed prior to conception) who were treated with insulin lispro for at least 1 month before conception and during at least the first trimester of pregnancy."
