Centers begin study of prostate cancer patients receiving radiation therapy

Calypso Medical Technologies, Inc. announced that it has begun clinical studies for patients with prostate cancer receiving external beam radiation therapy.

The study will evaluate the usability and safety of an investigational patient positioning system as an accessory in radiation therapy delivery (Calypso 4D Localization System with permanently implanted Beacon transponders).

The Calypso System is designed to provide objective, accurate and continuous tumor location information for external beam radiation therapy without additional ionizing radiation.
