Researchers report details of new studies and findings in the area of breast cancer

Breast cancer data are the focus of recent research from Lebanon, the United States and the United Kingdom.

Study 1: Pamidronate prevents chemotherapy-induced bone loss in premenopausal women, researchers report.

"Mortality from breast cancer has decreased in large part because of adjuvant chemotherapy. Sequelae of therapy include ovarian failure and bone loss - loss that would increase these patients' risk of fracture with aging," wrote G.E.H. Fuleihan and colleagues, American University of Beirut, who conducted a study of "the efficacy of pamidronate in preventing such loss."
