Drug achieves symptomatic relief of uterine fibroids with fewer side effects

Zonagen, Inc. (ZONA) announced that the company's contract data management organization has completed the final data assessment associated with the phase 1b clinical trial Zonagen. The trial, on the effects of Proellex on fibroid size, was completed earlier this year and presented in February on a preliminary basis at the Advances in Uterine Leiomyoma Research: NIH 2nd International Congress. The 3-month study included 3 dose levels of Proellex as well as placebo and positive control arms. The positive control was Lucrin, also known as Lupron, an approved gonadotropin releasing agonist (GnRHa), commonly used for the treatment of fibroids. Proellex was administered as a...
