Breast cancer detection improved by 7.4% in academic medical setting

A study published in the August issue of Radiology showed that breast cancer detection was improved by 7.4% through use of R2 Technology, Inc.'s ImageChecker computer aided detection (CAD) system, the company announced. The findings are significant because this is the first prospective published study of its kind to be conducted in an academic medical setting, which is typically staffed by the most highly trained radiologists.
