Investigators in the United Kingdom and Japan have published new breast cancer data. Study 1: Loss of E-cadherin expression predicts poor outcome in breast carcinoma patients with non-lobular tumors. "E-cadherin is a cell adhesion molecule that is expressed in normal breast tissue and is often considered useful as a phenotypic marker in breast cancer diagnosis, with absence of its expression frequently observed in tumors of lobular subtype," pathologists in England explained.
