Recent findings in breast cancer provide new insights

Breast cancer research advances have been reported from the United States, France and Wales. Study 1: Clinicopathologic factors might be linked to a false-negative (FN) sentinel lymph node (SLN) biopsy. According to a study from the United States, "Previous studies have suggested a variety of factors that may affect the FN rate for SLN biopsy in breast cancer." "Because FN results are relatively rare, no prior studies have had sufficient sample size to allow detailed statistical analysis of factors predicting FN results. Patients with clinical stage T1-2, NO invasive breast cancer were enrolled in a prospective, multicenter study....
