Scientists determine age-specific benefits for ovarian conservation

Scientists focus on determining the age-specific benefits for ovarian conservation in women at risk for ovarian cancer in a recent study.

"Prophylactic oophorectomy is often recommended concurrent with hysterectomy for benign disease. The optimal age for this recommendation in women at average risk for ovarian cancer has not been determined," scientists in the United States report.
