Research in breast cancer provides new insights

Reports from Germany, Japan and the United States highlight recent research on breast cancer. Study 1: The BMP/SMAD pathway may be involved in the progression of estrogen receptor-positive breast tumors. "Estrogen receptor expression is generally a sign of better tumor differentiation and comparatively good clinical outcome in invasive breast cancer," oncologists in Germany explained.
