Effect of folate intake on breast cancer risk evaluated

The effect of folate intake on breast cancer risk was evaluated in a recent study. "Folate plays an important role in DNA methylation, and aberrant methylation of the estrogen receptor (ER) gene may be related to the loss of ER gene expression in breast tumors," scientists writing in the journal Cancer Epidemiology Biomarkers and Prevention report.
