Neoadjuvant taxanes were used in the treatment of non-metastatic breast cancer. "In recent years the rote of neoadjuvant (primary, preoperative) chemotherapy has undergone rapid progress. Initially, neoadjuvant chemotherapy use was limited to those patients with inoperable locally advanced breast cancer in an attempt to try to downsize the tumor to make effective surgery possible," scientists in Canada reported.
