Binge eating is more highly correlated to alexithymia than either bulimia or anorexia

Researchers find that binge eating is more highly correlated to alexithymia than either bulimia or anorexia.

"Binge eating is often a way of life for many women even if the diagnostic criteria for the tentative DSM-IV-TR diagnosis of binge eating disorder is not met," stated scientists from the United States."

"Binge eating was conceptualized as a problem in affect regulation," wrote K. Wheeler and colleagues.
