Gender differences identified in treatment of women with ACS in Irish population

Gender differences were identified in the treatment of women with ACS in an Irish population. "Gender differences in presentation and management of acute coronary syndromes (ACS) are well established internationally," commented researchers from Ireland. F. Doyle and colleagues, Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, "investigated differences in a national Irish sample." Using a "Cross-sectional survey," the authors collected information from "All centres (n=39) admitting cardiac patients to intensive/coronary care." Data was provided "on 25 consecutive acute myocardial infarction patients and other ACS patients admitted concurrently (n=1365 episodes)....
