Researchers' data advance cervical cancer research

Data on cervical cancer are outlined in reports from Germany, India and Japan. Study 1: The efficacy of radiation therapy and simultaneous chemotherapy was discussed. Researchers in Germany conducted a study "to evaluate the efficacy and toxicity in patients with recurrence of cervical cancer treated with radiotherapy and simultaneous chemotherapy. Between 1987 and 2001, 24 patients with recurrent cervical carcinoma were treated with concurrent chemoradiotherapy. Nine patients had incomplete tumor resection prior to radiation therapy."
