Low-dose GM-CSF used as salvage therapy in breast and genital tract carcinoma

Continuous low-dose GM-CSF could be used as salvage therapy in refractory recurrent breast and female genital tract carcinoma. According to recent research from Germany, "GM-CSF (sargramostim [Leukine]) is a powerful cytokine that is able to stimulate the generation of dendritic cells. Adjuvant treatment with continuous low-dose GM-CSF has been shown to prolong survival of stage III/IV melanoma patients."
