Insertion technique doesn't affect performance of MammoSite brachytherapy catheter

The choice of insertion technique doesn't affect the performance of the MammoSite brachytherapy catheter (Proxima Therapeutics).

"The use of the MammoSite brachytherapy balloon catheter is one option for the delivery of accelerated partial breast irradiation during breast cancer therapy," surgeons in Arizona explained.

"The device can be inserted into the breast using three different techniques," according to V. Zannis and colleagues at the Breast Care Center of the Southwest in Phoenix.
