November 24th, 2005
Laboratory based small angle x-ray scattering (SAXS) could be used to diagnose breast cancer. According to a study from England, "Breast tissue collected from tumor samples and normal tissue from bilateral mastectomy procedures were examined using small angle x-ray scattering. Previous work has indicated that breast tissue disease diagnosis could be performed using SAXS from a synchrotron radiation source."
