Research-based pharmaceutical company reports 8% net sales growth

Schering AG, Germany (SHR) announced that in the first 9 months of 2005, the group achieved net sales growth of 8% after adjustment for structure effects. In total, net sales increased by 7% to EUR 3.902 million (US$4.61 million) and were not affected by exchange rate fluctuations. The operating profit in the first months was EUR 710 million (US$838.33 million), 18% above the previous year's level. Net profit increased by 25% compared to the previous year's figure to EUR 480 million. Earnings per share rose by 26% to EUR 2.53 (US$2.99).
