Breast cancer data are the focus of recent research from Scotland, the United Kingdom and the United States. Study 1: Investigators compared radio-guided occult lesion localization (ROLL) to wire-guided lumpectomy (WGL) for the treatment of occult breast lesions and found ROLL a feasible alternative. "Mammographic screening increases the number of impalpable breast cancers requiring surgical excision. It is important to optimize the localization technique to remove the smallest amount of tissue, still adequately excising the lesion," researchers in England reported.
