Digital camera assessment may provide a useful tool for cervical neoplasia detection in areas with limited clinical resources. In a recent article published in the International Journal of Gynecology & Obstetrics, scientists in the United States explored "the feasibility of digital photography for primary cervical cancer screening in a low-resource setting in El Salvador. Three independent examiners performed Pap test, visual inspection, digital camera assessment and colposcopy on each subject."
