Investigators in the United States, Israel and United Kingdom have published new obstetrics data. Study 1: The uterus may produce excess vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) receptor in preeclamptic women. "Preeclampsia has been considered an antiangiogenic state. Two factors have been implicated in the genesis of this state: soluble vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-1 (sVEGFR-1) and placental growth factor (PlGF)," scientists in the United States report.
