HER-2 protein expression can be inhibited in ovarian cancer cells

According to recently published research from the United States, synthetic microRNA (miRNA) and double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) targeting the 3'-untranslated region of HER-2/neu mRNA inhibits HER-2 protein expression in ovarian cancer cells. "miRNA are a class of non-coding RNAs found both in normal tissues and cancer cells. The natural miRNA, which target cancer genes for transcriptional repression, are still unknown."
