Highly specific new bacteria were detected in women with bacterial vaginosis

Highly specific newly recognized bacteria were detected in vaginal fluid from women with bacterial vaginosis.

"Bacterial vaginosis affects millions of women and is associated with several serious health conditions. The cause of bacterial vaginosis remains poorly understood despite numerous studies based on cultures," stated investigators in the United States.
