Outpatient visits did not improve survival of breast cancer patients and increased costs

Outpatient visits every third month instead of every sixth month did not improve the survival of breast cancer patients, but doubled the costs.

According to a study from Finland, "We studied the cost of follow-up of 472 breast cancer patients without distant metastasis after primary treatment in four different schedules in a randomized trial. The mean follow-up was 4.2 years."
